Engineering Update – 26 June 2016

By  |  2 Comments

On Sunday we continued preparing the final parts of the cabin for paint stripping. Mike has been doing a fantastic job in covering everything ready for this coming weekend.

Dan has also been doing a great job in finishing the paint stripping of the tail plane and other items. The condition of the tail structure is remarkable and only a small patch of corrosion has been found. Once the paint stripping is complete, they will be completely inspected and any repairs carried out then into the paint shop 🙂

Dani has been tasked with rebuilding one of the pilots seats which she dismantled, in preparation for inspection cleaning, repairs. Aviation Australia have done a great job in teaching her the basics and its great to have her on the project learning and experiencing hands on work on a great classic aircraft.IMG_6580 IMG_6584 IMG_6589 IMG_6597 IMG_6583 IMG_6588

      Thank you Terry

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Its an amazing project and will take a lot of people to get her back to airworthy standards. Its a lot of fun too. Sorry you are not closer, but i hope you will be able to visit the aircraft one day either on a holiday or during our flight to the US and Europe in the future.

Take care and all the best

      Dave
